Commercial Vehicle & Brake Inspector Training (2 Days) - $750

This two-day vehicle inspector training course provides students with the qualification training to perform federal commercial annual inspections, brake inspection, and brake readjustment as permitted by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Day one consists of classroom training covering Part 396 (Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance) including Appendix A (Minimum Periodic Inspection Standards) and Part 393 (Vehicle Equipment Standards). Day two consists of hands-on practical inspection training with a truck and trailer, including a detailed explanation of what roadside DOT inspectors check during a CVSA Level I Inspection.

 

Students will be provided the following:

Crash Investigation for Motor Carriers (12 Hours) - $650

This day and a half course will prepare motor carriers to face the inevitable occurrence of a traffic crash incident and the actions to take in the following days such as employee care, vehicle preservation, employee statement taking, and when DOT Post-Accident Drug Testing is required. Discussion includes criminal liability that drivers may face following a crash in addition to their civil liability. The civil litigation process will be covered in length for participants to understand how a company initiated investigation, including effective photo-taking and evidence collection methods, can reduce insurance settlement amounts. The entire civil proceedings process will be discussed with emphasis on courtroom or deposition testimony by company personnel and the tactics used by plaintiff attorneys. Participants will understand how a poor or weak DOT Safety Compliance Program can affect civil litigation.

DOT General Hazardous Materials Training (2 Days) - $750

This two-day course will provide motor carriers a basic understanding of transporting hazardous materials in commerce. Students will learn how the applicability of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations applies to hazmat transportation and the additional requirements by hazmat motor carriers and hazmat drivers license and endorsements. Students will learn the key applicable parts of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration Regulations Parts (100-185), including hazardous materials registration permits, 101 Table, shipping papers, placarding, labeling, markings, and cargo tank testing.

DOT Compliance Training for Commercial Vehicle Drivers (8 Hour Course) - $350

This 8-hour course is to provide commercial vehicle drivers (CDL and Non-CDL) with a basic understanding of DOT Compliance. Drivers will learn how to navigate through the major portions of the FMCSR’s and the DOT roadside inspection process. Drivers will understand how the SMS and PSP programs affect both carriers and individual driver history. The drivers will be presented with the Hours of Service regulations in Part 395 to have a clear understanding of logging and maximum hours, as well as all exceptions and exemptions contained therein. Drivers will learn what is required by regulation concerning their pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Drivers will end the training with an overview of the commercial vehicle equipment standards in Part 393.

DOT Audit & Recordkeeping Seminar (4 Hours) - $250

This four-hour training covers the critical items that companies will be evaluated on during a compliance review audit. This course is ideal for office and administrative personnel who are responsible for all document filing, hiring drivers, and record-keeping duties. This course does not require any prerequisites and is a great opportunity for an entry-level employee to gain basic knowledge to maintain minimal compliance requirements for their companies.

Basic CPR / First Aid Training (4 Hour Course) - Free

This course provides students with Basic First Aid and CPR knowledge and skills. The course is split in both knowledge assessments and practical exercise assessments for each student. Everyone completing the course will receive a two-year certification that meets most national training programs such as Red Cross, National Safety Council, etc. This course also meets the national standards for CPR training that lifeguards or care takers may be required or asked to possess in order to provide services.
